I have recommended so many people to get one of these I should make a commission! I have 2 small children so the fact that this heater shuts itself off when it's knocked over and it won't burn you if you touch it. This is a huge bonus to me having small children. It is not terribly loud either so it doesn't disturb us while watching TV. This little guy has a thermostat so it actually comes on and off and keeps the room temperature regulated. I live in tri-level built in 1968 so my large window and front door are a bit drafty. It heats the room quickly on those cold mornings. We also keep one downstairs in our 1-room finished basement. The kids have a TV and video games down there so it can get quite cold. We have had our for three years and they are as faithful as ever!

I am elderly and on blood thinners. Therefore I Am always cold and bundleing up is never enough. This little heater warms the room I read in and is absolutely neccesary in the bathroom when I shower.I have no negative words for it.

It was cold in my office...we have no heat.....I went out to buy this item...very economical....plugged it in and in five minutes my office was warm....what more can you ask for? Fairly quiet and efficient. 3 settings and a fan without heat if I need it....my office is 12' x 10'.

I bought this as a small, cheap space heater (bedroom, bathroom)and that is just what I got. It does heat small areas but the fan is too loud, especially after one week of use when it began to vibrate. There is no was to disassemble it to repair the rattle and customer service requires you send it in for inspection/repair/replacement. I wasn't going to waster anymore money so I took it to work and put it under my desk.

I used the product on my bedroom and used to keep it on an wooden surface. The product would badly vibrate and hence move, when on the wooden surface. Eventually it fell off the surface couple of times, and now doesn't work at all (withing 2.5 months of purchasing it).
Bought it on sale, but still won't recommend it.

Ace's free ship to store worked great. The unit itself was a piece of junk. I returned the first unit because one side of the heater blew cold air while the other side blew heated air. The second unit does the same thing and I will be returning it. Don't waste your money... even if it's on sale.

I was reluctant but yet anxious to plug in the heater as it was mentioned in a write-up that it was noisy. They must have had a defective one as this is just right for our family room. It does such a good job that I end up having to turn it down.

I am a struggling homeowner. Needed to heat up the house. I have 2 of these as well as another source of electric heat. Using all 3 comfortably gets the house temp to 72 degrees. They are being used to heat up the living room, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. It was an awesome deal. No problems, with the exception it drys the air out and that is expected coming from an electric heat source. I recommend this for anyone who needs some extra heat and is on a tight budget!

There's so much that I can say about this little heater, but the main things are that: it's very inexpensive (caught it on sale at Ace, bought several); it heats up very quickly (I use one in my 11.5 X 11.5 bedroom--the room stays comfortably toasty all night. The other two I bought for family members); stays cool to the touch while in operation; there are several fan speed settings-- low, medium and high; adjustable thermostat that allows the heater to cycle off/on when your desired level of heat is achieved, and maintains that level; it's whisper quiet even on the highest setting; has an auto-shut off function for safety in the event that the unit overheats. Probably the best benefit is that it allows me to use my central heating unit a lot less, thereby saving me lots of money on my electric bill.
The only drawback for me about this heater is that it dries out the air somewhat, but that's more of a function of heaters in general than this particular heater. An economical and practical must have for cold autumns and winters!!

Mostly I use it in fan mode to circulate air to quickly dry a shower enclosure and wet towels from some distance. The tile bathroom has no heat source, so this heater can be used for hours on its lowest setting, or highest when I'm showering. It absolutely prevents most condensation (like, on your ceiligs, walls, and towels).
My current one is years old, with no sign of bearing failure, typical for small motors. Off plus fan plus three heat settings to meet your needs.
Two gripes: 1) have to move it an inch once in a while to prevent vibration on the floor, and 2) sometimes when it gets hot, the protective device shuts the thing down for extended periods of time. I blow it out with compressed air once in a while to get rid of inevitable dust.
Oh, BTW, I'm buying three more for renters with poorly ventilated bathroms.

You can buy a ceramic heater for less from department stores. The reason I buy this is because it has a low heat setting of 600W which is not found on ceramic heaters. This reduces the chances of tripping circuit breakers when several high power devices (e.g. hair dryer, refrigerator, dehumidifier, toaster...) are plugged in to the same circuit, provided you don't need a lot of heat.

The thermostat is mechanical so expect a large swing in temperature (over a range of several degrees). If you want a smaller fluctuation, you need a heater with digital thermostat.

The unit has a rumble/shake although it doesn't make any audible sound in normal use. Still, it implies poor quality control (the fan blades are not balanced).

There is no tip-over shut-off. However, when it falls over on its face, it makes a sound -- I believe the fan blades graze something in this position.

In short, if you have no problem with ciruit breaker tripping when using a ceramic heater, then there is no point in buying this heater. But if you do, then this heater is an ok solution.

This is a well made, simple, and effective unit. This unit is best suited for personal use for a single, average sized room. One who is considering purchasing this unit should however look elsewhere if they intend to heat a home with it. This unit heats up quickly, and always remains cool to the touch on all exposed parts. For the price, and recommended use from this reviewer, one will find themselves very satisfied with the Pelonis heater.

This is my second unit. Bought for myself after buyng this one for my mother.Using both in Bedroom and Bathroom...without using cental heat. Also the windows in the house are not energy effecient...45 years old origonal windows. If your looking for hot air to blow on you from accross the room ..then get he Lasko Ceramic Tower for more $$Heats up a entire 15 x 13 bedroom to 66 degrees (and can put on the floor far away to heat room -or closer to warm my feet and a smaller area) and not on the highest setting either, without central heating turned on. I live in the Northeast too and its December.Extremly light weight and portable.Heats up almost instantly..and cant beat price [...]

I use this heater to heat a small computer office in our basement. Honestly, it's so loud, I can't concentrate while it is turned on. It heats well, but I cannot stand the fan noise.Instead of adding a useless thermostat, perhaps a fan speed control would have added more value.I wouldn't recommend this if there is a lot of movement in your room, as it tips over very easily, and it does not have a tip-over safety shut off.One more con, is that when I turned it off the other day and pulled the plug out, I almost burnt my fingers on how HOT the plastic plug was! I just couldn't believe it. I only had it running for around 10 minutes on the high setting.I'm not sure if this is normal, but it sure didn't seem safe to me for it to be so hot while only being on for 10 minutes.Now, it's not a bad heater, but it's just not a GOOD heater.I gave it three stars because it performs decently on the mid to low setting.Another plus is that it was VERY inexpensive [...].If you have another $15-$20 to spend, please consider something with a few more safety features and more solid construction.
