Comments about Taylor® Classic Candy/Deep-Fry Thermometer (5911N):
bought this at my local Ace. Noticed during use3 that it seemed inaccurate. Burnt a batch of candy and overcooked it. It showed soft all stage but was really hard crack. I returned it.

Comments about Taylor® Classic Candy/Deep-Fry Thermometer (5911N):
I bought this thermometer to use with my Weber kettle grill, as recommended by the Smokenator 1000 manual, but upon testing with boiling water, it was off by 7F, and then after using it with the grill to measure dome temperature, it was off by more than 40 F, measured against a digital thermometer I have from Taylor. I will be looking for another thermometer to use with my grill. Very flimsy build and cannot be calibrated.

Comments about Taylor® Classic Candy/Deep-Fry Thermometer (5911N):
Was using product to made peanut brittle for the holidays. Tested the product in boiling water after I noticed it did not register 212 degrees in boiling syrup. The temperature in boiling water was 182 degrees. Not good when making candy. Product seemed to arrive in good shape, no apparent abuse. So I assume it was never quality tested. Too bad because the design is very appealing.
