we use it to warm up the space in front of our chairs, for watching tv. takes the chill out and keeps us very warm,no use to hear the whole house when not needed.

This plastic unit was first purchased in 2004 by myself. The outer box melted through and left a 6" hole but it still runs. I highly recommend the pelonis I have two unheated examinaiton rooms that I heat up quickly ( in 5-10 minutes to 70plus degrees by using two metal framed pelonis.) Then I set the temp and leave it all day at pennies to heat. We bought the first unit used by the astronaughts in the 70's and eighties in the spacecraft. This unit is excellent. I have purchased and used or given away over 20 units!!! These are great. We now have them in each room rather than a central heat at home and we love them they can be run all night in sub zero weather outdoors. Pelonic ceramic heaters are the best but watch out there are Pleonis that are not ceramic and there are Pelonis ceramic with heat fans. These are not so good and very efficient depreciated. Thanks for listening! Get a metal case, older model and love it too!

I owned this heater two days and was used 3-4 times before something overheated and produced a strong burned plastic smell. It was also very noisy. I returned it for a refund.

This is a little heater that might do good in a small bathroom or something but not a whole 700 sq ft apartment. I am in a 10x12 office with only this heater and it barley can keep this heated. Not worth the money i spent on it.

Bottom line: FABULOUS and FIERCE heater. Instant comforting heat blasts my frozen toes exactly when I need it. Turn it up to maximum to instantly take the chill off, and then turn it down for sustained output. The small size makes it easy to store when not in use, and it stays out of the way when in use. It heats my entire two-bedroom 700 sq.ft. apartment. It has a fan, so it is not quiet, but its small size keeps the sound bearable.
