I've used the 1" plus shears that are out, and not been pleased, since there's always one branch that's bigger than their bite. With these shears, I can make to partial bites on one side, and a final on the opposite and cut about 3".
They've done the trick, stayed sharp, and exceeded my expectations. My wife, a slight young thing, with tender sensibilities, also finds she can work well with them.

Wish I had this tool years ago. Really great & productive. Danger = too easy to exceed the handles capacity & it will snap before you even realize you are applying too much pressure.
