Had about two feet of piping (PVC and galvanized) to my water pressure tank in the garage that is exposed to the open air. Had been using a 60-watt light bulb to provide enough heat to prevent freezing (temps can get to -15 F). This EasyHeat heat cable system works GREAT! No more worries about replacing burned out light bulbs...and this cable, when coupled with the EH-38 pre-set thermostat, automatically comes on when the exposed air temperature gets down to 38 F.
