I live in Florida and use the Amdro Fire Ant Bait but it is useless against the other ants. We get some ants in the house and sprays do not work. At night our patios, etc are covered in large black ants and in the day the pool deck is covered in smaller ones. I need three of these containers (the price does add up) and am probably using more than enough. In less than twelve hours all ants were just gone. The colonies probably collapsed from the destructive power of this product. Wonderful. Make sure not to use insecticide in the timeframe when you are using this bait. The insecticide may inhibt the ants from taking the bait.

We must have mutant ants here in Texas because I've tried Amdro ant bait several times and the ants show no interest at all. We have a bad infestation of carpenter ants and the ants walk right over the Amdro. They could care less! Out of frustration, I poured Amdro directly into the nest. A minute later, I see the ants carrying the Amdro out of the nest and dropping it on the ground!!! I give up!!

    Just plain didn't work!

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

I've been reading other reviews looking for anyone who has had my experience and have not found a single one. I promise, the ants act like they are thriving on this stuff. I've used it as directed repeatedly. I finally put some vegetable dust on the mound out of frustration. They're not liking it as well. I expect most of them will be gone in a few hours. Very disappointed indeed with Amdro.

    Beyond Happy

    By GG70

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

I have had problems with ants for the last 10yrs. I've tried everything I could get my hands on, I have even tried homemade recipes all which promised to work with no results. When I heard about AMBRO I was skeptical but hopeful. I bought 3 bottles of the granules (ea bottle says enough for 1000sq ft or so, my home is 3500sq ft) I spread the granules the whole perimeter of my home and anywhere I seen ants. Unlike others I didn't see the ants carry this stuff away, so I figured I just wasted my money. Next morning I wake up to tons of dead ants in my master bath, I ran outside and see nothing, most of the granules are gone and no ants. Over the next 10 days I've seen only a handful of ants outside (maybe 10 ants) and I can see their dying. I had dead ants in my bath tubs (3 bathtubs) for about 4 days in a row. I'm 2 weeks in now and have nothing, zero, nada! This stuff is awesome, I'm telling everyone I know about this (especially my neighbors) I will continue to use AMBRO and nothing else.

    i was amazed!!!

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

The scene: our kitchen overwhelmed by ants. It felt like they were everywhere. Turn on the stove and out they came. We hid the cake in the microwave! we tried everything bait behind the fridge, stove under the sink. The call: co-worker suggested this product The attack: sprinkled granules where we had put the bait, and went to bed The victory: 1 lone infant survivor now gone. Haven't seen anything else all day. As soon as it stops raining, we'll be laying down the perimeter! best investment we ever made.

Living in S. TX (as a northeastern transplant) for the last 15 years, we've had a problem with ant invasions in our home. It was a nightmare, usually about twice/year. Since we starting using Amdro, no invasions. It also worked on the cutter ants that were eating our shrubs.

The Amdro Ant Block is already starting to work upon application! :)

    By CapeCodKen

    from Sandwich, MA, USA

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

Living on Cape Cod, MA in a wooded area is great until Spring hits and the huge black carpenter ants start probing the house and trying to set up satellite nests. While I've got a pest control service that takes care of the carpenters every year I'm a bit impatient this year so I thought to give Amdro a try. I laid down the Amdro per the directions at the tree in the woods where the carpenters originated, at the base of their budding satellite nest on the corner of the house, and along the trail between. The ants are already picking up the bait grains! I'm very confident that my pest guy won't have much to do when he visits mid-week. Thanks in advance, Amdro!

I tried many other products, different of ants killer, none of them worked till I used this product. I tried this 7 or 8 years ago first time, the ants all gone, and never come back since then. only used 20% of the bottle. very happy with this product. suggest not to use it if kept more than a year, less effective. but still good enough.

Works great the first year, but what is the expected product shelf life?

    By drbobted

    from Southern California

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

I bought a container of this bait in 2012 to control our annual infestation of Argentine ants here in Southern CA. I applied twice as directed and had no ant invasion all last season. But since I used only about 1/4 of this bait, I stored the remainder in the original container, tightly closed and in a cool dark location. Unfortunately, this product seems to be less effective a year later, in 2013, and we still have a few ants wandering around our kitchen in mid-December. They seem to ignore the bait and just walk around it. What is the expected shelf life? Why is no expiration date shown on the product container?

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

Put this out a a perimeter bait, per the instructions, last year. Got rid of all ants within a week. Tried a different, cheaper brand this spring and noticed that the ants were not taking the bait. Switched back to Amdro and ants were gone in a week. I do a perimeter treatment every two months and since have had no ants for 5 months.

    Worked in 48 hours

    By BarneyFife

    from Lindenhurst, il

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

I have read some reviews that said this stuff doesn't work, but I bought it anyway. I had carpenter ants in the kitchen and in the yard. You have to think about where to put the product to work. Carpenter ants live near trees and wood piles. So I put the andro around the trees and the wood pile and every other place that I thought these ants would live. I did not have any ants in the kitchen. I must have found the main colony because they are not on the trees anymore. I've used this product in the past for other ant piles(I used to live in Texas and this is a fire ant killer). Do not hesitate to try this product. If it doesn't work the first time, it may be because you did not put it in the right places.

I have a roach problem in my 29 ft RV. I tried this pest control product and my roaches just love it. I have tried spraying a second time and they keep coming back for more. This does not work and I think the product is worthless. They won't even tell you what's in the in the products ingredient's. looks like it mostly made of water.

We have had a huge large black ant problem in our backyard for years! I have tried product after product after product.... one day my doctor suggested Amdro, he said it worked super quick in his yard. So I finally gave in and bought some and it worked that very night! they were swarming our patio 2 nights ago, had to be careful with the pets, so I only put down a little that night. Next morning there was already hundreds dead by the holes in ground. Put more around the holes and haven't seen any since! Its incredible...it really works!!

Comments about Amdro® Ant Block (100099216):

I moved into my new house and found out real quick that there was a big carpenter ant problem. I sprinkled this bait under the kitchen sink, (where I saw a lot of activity.) And around the perimeter of the house. If I saw ants in the house I didn't kill them, I put them under the sink hoping they would start eating. It worked they were all over the poison. A short time after I started noticing less and less ants. Then eventually none. I discovered in the basement thousands and thousands of dead bodies. I had to sweep them all up. I killed the whole colony.

I've never figured out what variety of ants I have, but I know some are attracted to sugar and some attracted to meat. No other baits have worked as well as this one on both types. It took 3 days, but the ants were gone and it's been over 2 months with no reoccurrence.

All you have to do is shake the granules near the ant hills. The ants take it into the nest and they eat this. Soon you do not see ant activity, after only about a week. To draw ants away from your house, spread this around the outside of the house, all the way around and the ants will be drawn to the Amdro and leave you in peace. They will also rest in peace.

We used Amdro Ant Block for the 1st time last December, and for the first time, we had no ant invasions throughout the entire winter. Applying 2nd round of Amdro today. Mistakenly picked up another brand because we forgot that Amdro was what we needed, and that bait was totally ineffective. Found the Amdro container today, off to the store for a new container! Goodbye ants!!!
