Comments about Battery Tender 12V Battery Charger Harness Ring Terminal (081-0069-6):
I do a lot of camping in a pop-up travel trailer. Inevitably I would exhaust the single 12 volt, deep-cycle, trailer battery mounted on the camper tongue if I camped for three continuous days. So, I bought two 12 volt, deep-cycle batteries to solve the problem. I don't have the room to mount both on the tongue so one has to sit on the ground. I needed a way to connect/disconnect them together quickly and safely. Bought two of these connectors and they work great. It was a requirement for me that they have protective plug caps, which these do, so that when they the batteries are disconnected; you can put the cap covers on and not have any exposed plugs. I wish they had published the guage of the wiring used in their construction. They did mention that there is an in-line fuse in the wiring rated at 7.5 amps, so I assume the wiring can at least handle up to that level of current draw. That works fine for me because I know the maximum draw I would have on my camper is around 6 amps. I installed one of the connectors per instructions on one of the batteries. On the other battery I installed the other connector in reverse, in order to create a parallel 12 volt circuit between the two batteries. With the batteries wired in this configuration I merely have to remove the protective caps and snap connect the two connectors together. Don't have to worry about whether I got the positive to positive and negative to negative connection correct. The design of the connecting plugs makes it impossible to snap them together incorrectly. Just be sure that the connectors are installed to the batteries so that you get a PARALLEL connection.
