I have used these for years. They are not attractive but they provide great utility storage in the garage, storage units, and work room. If you take them apart, move them, and put them back together you may have to realign some of the parts as they do get bent. But it isn't difficult. They go up and down easily. Just keep the particle board shelves away from water. The rubber mallet keeps from damaging the metal components.

I have been using the 14" Gorilla shelves in my garage for 5 years and they are the BEST! Because of my positive experience, I purchased these larger shelves for storing the equipment and property I manage at work. I couldn't be more pleased. A good tip for assembling: a rubber mallet is very helpful, as is another person to lend a hand. I am planning to purchase more of these shelves for my new two car garage.

Assembled two of these shelving units for my garage. They are very sturdy, have deep shelving to hold lots of items, and allow configuration of shelves to accomodate your needs. I already had some shelving of the same brand but in a different size. I love not having to deal with lots of screws. The rivets are built into the shelving standards. All you need is a mallet and some patience to learn how to assemble them. Instructions were excellent. These are the BEST garage shelving products I have seen and are not extremely expensive. Great price for the value.

I have bought several Gorilla-brand storage racks over the years so I specifically sought this one out because I was already familiar with assembling it and because it semi-matches the other units in our garage. It's easy to assemble - just be sure to have a rubber mallet and a little bit of patience as you have to get the tabs/slots aligned and whack the shelf rails with a bit of conviction to get them in place. The one small downside - for about the same money I've seen these units with vertical pieces where he holes don't show. Also, some models have shelves that are more "finished" - these shelves are bare. But I couldn't find that variety, although it's really not a big deal - it's great in a garage and now my stuff is off the floor.

We own several gorilla shelves and needed an additional shelve. These are hard to find and ACE carries them at a great price, plus free in-store delivery. Ideally you need two people and a little elbow grease to put the shelf together. They are not complicated, but it can be a little hard to align the posts and get the cross rails hammered down. Very sturdy shelf, excellent for garage storage!

I was looking for a sturdy shelving unit to put up in the garage and this was it. My brother and I assembled it in about 20 minutes. If I had room to put another one beside it, I would. In my opinion, this shelving rack was definitely money well spent.

orginazing basement and garage, I was greatful that they went together so fast. Very sturdy, and I know that they have to be heavy to be strong - we are just older at my home and the boxes are very heavy. We found that the larger sheves had to be opened and the shelves removed so we could carry it down to the basement. Would have been easier if we had a dolly.
Both the basement and garage look great now - probably will puchase another one for the garden shed.

My wife & I put this together in half an hour. I was concerned it would be wobbly, unstable. Not so.....it is extremely sturdy. Plan to buy more to store cardboard file boxes in shop.

These shelves have been great for organizing all the odds and ends stuff we have in our basement and our garage. They are sturdy, attractive and easy to put together. They are also versatile; we have some as shelving and some as work benches.
We have both 48 x 24 and 34 x 14. If you need sturdy attractive shelving, get the Gorilla brand.
P.S. Ace had the best prices.

I was able to assemble three of these units in a half-hour, using only a rubber mallet. Although made of thinner steel than the ones I bought back in 1996, They are sturdy, once assembled. The directions should have said to heat the plastic protective caps in hot water before installation, so they won't split.

These are very nice shelves. I have about 14 Gorilla Racks in my storage areas and they have performed well for the last 10 years. These are especially nice with the black frames and I like the 2' deep, uncoated shelves better than the plastic/paint coated ones. They are more durable and look just as good.[...]. Picking up an inexpensive rubber mallet is a must for assembling the racks. They are sturdy, adjustable, NO SCREWS OR BOLTS,and can be made tall for upright storage or short for a long, uniform work area (the 2'x4' is great for a big work bench.)

We bought this product because we trust Ace. Once, when we were newly married, we put together a large metal storage shed. The directions were written by a non-English speaker and we had to call the help line several times over the course of the weekend. In the case of this Gorilla product, we found that all the tips and pictures were extremely useful and the written instructions left no room for confusion. AND the price was a really good value. KUDOS!!!

I ordered three of these shelves to hold garden supplies, holiday decorations, tools, camping equipment and (on the lowest shelves) firewood. Now everything is easily accessible, and my garage is neat and orderly. I can't believe how sturdy these shelves are, and how easily they
assembled. As a single, senior citizen I was concerned that they may be complicated for me to put together. The only tool I needed was a rubber mallet, and I had NO problem with following the directions for assembly. I would highly recommend these shelves.
