Season's not over yet, but so far these seem very solid, and being able to remove one side of a connector and push new growth into the cage is awesome.

This would be a better product if one more stake were added, making it a square instead of a tri-angle. It would double the growing size. (Two tri-angles together make one square.) Then they would have to supply 16 adjustable connectors instead of nine. I tried to find a site to buy extra connectors, but couldn't find any anywhere. Ultomato gave a web site, but the computer cannot find it. The tri-angle shape is too small to grow large tomatos.

Comments about WOODSTREAM Gardener's Blue Ribbon® Poly Tomato Cage (TMC60):
This tomato cage is the best out there. I used to use the standard round wire cages, but the Ultimato cage is far superior. It is MUCH stronger, which is good because one tomato plant can have 50lbs of tomatoes at once. This cage lasts many seasons unlike the wire ones, saving $ in the long run. I also will state that the tomato plants do not suffer as much damage in windy conditions when using this cage, as opposed to the thin metal wire cages that seem to cut into the plant. The thick posts and cross members do not damage my stalks.

Comments about WOODSTREAM Gardener's Blue Ribbon® Poly Tomato Cage (TMC60):
I now have 16 of the ultomato cages. I use them for tomatoes grown in large 10 gallon squat pots. I have found that cutting 1' sections of 1/2 inch pvc pipe to use as support for the bottom of the cages makes this much more stable for large tomato plants and the cages will not blow down in the wind. Just pound the 1/2" pvc sections into the ground and then place the tomato cage posts into the pvc pipe. It really works. My problems with this cage are I need to be able to purchase additional cross member supports and they break easily after one seasons use. Also I wish there was a 6' or 7' version. We need to be able to contact the manufacturer directly for support issus. I would however recommend these cages to anyone wanting a great tomato cage at a reasonable price.

Comments about WOODSTREAM Gardener's Blue Ribbon® Poly Tomato Cage (TMC60):
This works much better with tomatoes than traditional tomato cages due to using sturdy stakes that don't tend to tip as productive plants get heavy, using plastic supports rather than wire to support the plant, and having adjustable supports that can be raised or added gradually as the plant grows. It also works exceptionally well to support other plants like squash if your garden space is limited and you want to minimize plant sprawl.
Only downside to this product is (as other reviewers mentioned) that this works much better as a square cage than a triangle. Fortunately(?), the stakes break often enough that the support:stake ratio kind of corrects itself over a few years.

- Weather Resistant

- Should be larger

Works great for my plants in large pots on the deck. But they would not be the best for big, heavy plants in the garden. (I make my own cages for those)
Overall a good product. I would highly recommend this for your potted tomato plants or smaller variaties of tomato plants in the garden.

Comments about WOODSTREAM Gardener's Blue Ribbon® Poly Tomato Cage (TMC60):
Nice design, seem to be much sturdier than the wire cages. I wish I could get more of the cross pieces, maybe one more set (3 pieces) per cage would be nice. This is reasonably priced as well. This is my first use of these, we'll see how they're doing in another couple of months when loaded down with tomatoes!

Origianlly purchased these in Oakland California. Moved them with us to Bainbridge Island, Washington. Easy to assemble, sturdy, easy to take down and store. Bought more online and I'm still using the originals. I will get more this year for my dahlias.

Comments about WOODSTREAM Gardener's Blue Ribbon® Poly Tomato Cage (TMC60):
I can agree with all the comments except, we get lots of rain out here and plastic will last alot longer here than metal, so this is the better eco choice for our area. I gave up on metal tomato cages because they rust in a single season. I have my pumpkins and zucchini growing on these, so I think they're very sturdy. My six year old set up four of them, so I didn't find them all that rough to figure out.
Pros

Cons
- Difficult to Set-Up

Comments about WOODSTREAM Gardener's Blue Ribbon® Poly Tomato Cage (TMC60):
I have all the same comments as Destiver, plus an additional comment that as the tomato plant grows, the cage may start to twist. That's if you install it yourself and don't do it symetrically.
My impression is that it is not too weather resistant and that the plastic may break after 2 or 3 seasons. One of the horizontal supports seems to have stretched out where it snaps onto the vertical support and doesn't stay on well. I think after a few uses, the plastic will stretch, bend or break.
For the price and ease of putting the plant branches back into the cage w/o breaking them, it's worth it. but if it doesn't last very long, it's not so great environmentally.

Comments about WOODSTREAM Gardener's Blue Ribbon® Poly Tomato Cage (TMC60):
This was rather hard to assemble, and much easier with two people. I am using mine for tomato plants, the best thing about them is if your tomato plant grows outside the cage you can just pop off one of the side bars, gently push the plant back in, and pop the side bar back on. No more tying plants for me! Currently my plants are very bushy and aproximately 5' tall! We get hefty winds where I live and these have not blown over and seem quite sturdy once they are in the ground.
