Comments about North States® Stairway Swing Gate (4630):
This gate works great for low-traffic stairways, such as stairs to an unfinished-basement. When it is set up, it firmly holds in place. It is flexible to swing either both directions or you can install the lock mechanism to make it swing only one way. The latch works great for one-hand opening, but not for closing, as one needs to line up the bottom hook first. The elements for latching and adjusting the length of the gate are fairly loose. This makes the act of latching it closed a two handed job, but it also provides flexibility as one can adjust the length on the fly to avoid obstacles around the doorway.
All in all a great gate for a good price so far. It works great for our door-less basement stairway off our kitchen.
