I suspect the problem is my naivete and not the cord. However, when the cord arrived, I was surprised (and disappointed) to see that it had an "unconventional" plug configuration such that I could not use it as a standard extension cord for an electric heater. Looking at the description of the item on the web site, it is probably obvious to more informed people than I that the item is configured for special use, but perhaps the description could render that more explicit?
