Comments about Quikrete® Mortar Repair (862009):
I've used this in both the smaller 5.5 oz. and this 10 oz. size. I used it to fill gaps between the brick and the siding on my house. I found the color a bit too dark (medium to darkish gray), so it doesn't match perfectly, but was close enough most won't notice. It would not work for me on a bigger, more visible scale unless they offered a lighter color. They should make at least a couple more gray-tinted colors. You should test an area for this reason. The grit is a nice feature, but does make application a bit more difficult. The larger size does have a mandatory square applicator, which is unnecessary and limiting. If you use the smaller size, you might as well clip the tip for the biggest hole, because it will not flow through a small one. It is oddly mortar-like in that it has water, therefore, can be wiped away easily if you mess up. When it dries, it looks like mortar but feels like sandy caulk. It's an interesting product with great potential.
