When watering from above, you run the risk of over-watering and getting fungus gnats from your houseplants since the eggs hatch in the top inch or so of dirt. These are perfect for keeping the roots watered and avoiding those awful gnats!

These glass watering globes work and are great for the forgetful or brown thumb house plant owners. In my large ficus, I have two globes. You must follow the directions. Don't try to just push the globe into the plant pot and also it is important to fill it correctly...it relies on oxygen to work properly. It's not hard. It is convenient, especially for plants in hard to reach places or the ones you always forget to water because of the location. And, they look nice in the plant unlike some watering aids.

These globes are perfect for a person like me. I am always over- or under-watering house plants because I don't know enough about the different varieties and how much water they need. This has always been a major frustration for me. With the aqua globes, I just fill them when they are empty (which is typically between one and two weeks depending on the plant). It is a no brainer! I haven't killed a plant since I got them! Plus, they really are pretty - I would recommend them to anyone who either doesn't know how often to water or who doesn't have time to pay tons of attention to your house plants. FABULOUS!

Lets start with the good, They are decorative globes. They look very nice in green plants. They are only good in very small plants, due to the fact that they are small globes and only hold a little water. I find it easier to just water the plants than to take time to fill the globe. I usually have to fill them every day to every other day in larger plants.I would only recommend it as a decotative piece not practical for 6 inch plant or larger.
