I primarily use this knife when cutting drywall or sheet rock cement board, which can be hard on a utility knife. The blade mechanism of other knives I have owned in the past stopped working after a couple of hard days of use. This one holds up under tough conditions.

I've used many utility knives over the last 30 years and this one has been by far my favorite. I bought two more just because I know how utility knives "disappear" on the job site... I generally hunt this one down when it's misplaced. The long and thick blades last through many shingle, vinyl and insulation cuts with a blade locking mechanism that is robust and dependable...I've never had a blade slip with this knife. I'd give it 10 stars if it were an option.

Light weight and fits in carpenter pants side pockets very well. Easy to grasp and find in pocket. I use it to open packages at work and it was always a pain to have to open similar knifes that fold out. This lets you slide knife blade out and back in quickly. Bought one for home also.

Even long cuts come out clean and straight.
The long razor blade keeps the cutting edge at a 45 degree angle that cuts better and lasts longer than a utility knife
