other timers stop working after a month or two. I have had two of these for 3 years and decided to add more. Dependable, even if placed in direct sunlight.

I have used most of the battery timers and I prefer this one. Its easy to "program" and lasts. Usually one set of batteries last the whole season. The only time I have had one malfunction is when I forgot to remove it before winter and it froze. Used them when I lived in Seattle and now in Pahrump.

Had some winter kill in the lawn. This timer is perfect for keeping a new seed area wet. Very user friendly. I set it to water for 5 minutes every 4 hours. One note on my installation...The valve turns off rather fast and caused water hammer(pipe rattle) in the house. I used a water hammer arrester(The type made for washing machine hook-ups, also sold at Ace) If you need the arrester, also buy a hose 90 to get the timer straight up and down again so the cover works properly.

I bought one of these timers about 3 weeks ago and it seems to work GREAT!!,before buying this Orbit timer I used the cheaper round type timer(don't remember the name) from [...] I was lucky to get thru one season with them.The only draw back was at [...]I paid $ 10.00 more at our local store than was advertised on the web site,But still worth the money.
