Here's the deal... just like every other consumer bug spray product that claims to kill black widow spiders and brown recluse spiders (and even shows these two spiders right on the label) you need to spray these particular spiders DIRECTLY to kill them. In other words don't expect to be able to spray a perimeter or only near a hiding black widow and feel safe. The packaging and description is deceivingly vague... read the fine print before you buy a 4-pack of this and realize that you didn't get what you thought you had paid for. You could put the same expectation on a bottle of laundry bleach or gasoline and get the same results.
