I wanted a lid for my whimsical monkey trash bin in my bathroom, so I decided to (re?)purpose an unused paint can lid. I used some fun tack (that I also purchased at Ace) and stuck it betwen a drawer pull and a magnet. I had initially purchased the 10 pack of "regular" magnets, but the lid just slid off of the magnet. After some web searching, I found these on the Ace website. I thought the package was a bit pricey...only 3 magnets and it was more expensive than the pack of 10 that I had first tried. Now that I know how well it works (like a charm!), I would have paid the same money for just 1 magnet. My only other option was to attempt to drill a hole through the lid. I was very concerned that it would buckle under the pressure.

I used these magnets with foam, leather, and mesh backing to make a passenger pad for my Harley. These magnets are stronger than I expected. I spent 30 bucks and made a seat that blows away the store bought hundred dollar suction cup seats! I highly recommend these magnets im using them on all of my removable seats from now on.

I used these magnets to hold a door down on a ice machine. It does exactly that and has a good enough range that if the door is within 1-2 inches, it will pull it in to keep it tight and sealed. These are definately good for most home improvment projects for the average DIY person. These are relatively small, but they also offer other supermagnets that are slightly larger and have more attraction force.
