Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® 4in Adjustable Dryer Connector:
We bought a new set of Washer/Dryer and because of the configuration of the back of the dryer, the distance from the wall is greater than it was with the former dryer. I went online and searched for space saving dryer vents. I bought this at our ACE store. You can slide the connector of the dryer side easy enough, but the connector to the wall vent did not work at all. There is a crimped section at the end, but it didn't fit into the 4" duct. Plus it would have added another 2-3" to the distance of the dryer from the wall. So, I cut the connector down to 1" and made cuts in it to reduce the diameter. That's easy enough as the unit is made of thin sheet metal. I could have taped the two together, but the dryer would still have been 1" further from the wall than with the traditional flex hose. So, I reinstalled the flex hose.
