I used this product on my 20 year old asphalt shingle roof (light green). We had a 105 degree day and I used an infrared thermometer to compare the part of the roof that had been coated against the part that wasn't. The non-coated side was 133 degrees. The coated side was 108 degrees. The difference would probably be more dramatic with a darker (black) shingle.
Also I capture the water for reuse in my vegetable garden so it was important that this paint was non toxic. It also provides a good grip when walking around on the roof to clean out the gutters.

I was am coating my dads asphalt shingled roof. It was installed 25 years ago and was coated with a clear coating 20 years ago. He lives in Bridgeport Calif. They get a lot of snow and it get as low as 25 degress below 0.
The shingles were showing wear but were ingood shape.
So I chose to tint this coating a light grey.
I have one coat on and it already looks great and is sealed
I am going to apply a second coat.
It goes on easy if you follow instructions.
His roof is very steep for snow so I am using a 1 1/4 inch roller cover. the thicker the better
