I use this device to add supplimental heat to my house. It heated the entire downstairs of my 3000 sq ft house the other day while we were running the laundry. :) My heat pump cant even do that! LOL I really like this thing and I think it is a brilliant idea. Would recommend to anyone with a cold house.

this product is fine i suppose to hang if your dryer is downstairs and cents out above it. Using it with a stackable washer/dryer however, it is upside down and is not designed to be mounted in any other way. I had wanted to use this product in the winter when it gets cold and our humidity is sitting around 20-28, but in my situation its a pain, i finally had to create my own bracket set in order to place it sideways on the wall, upside down and the small screen kept falling off.

I've been using this Heat Diverter for about 10 years. My dryer is in the basement and I like keeping the heat from dryer in the house. I clean the screen every time that I clean the dryer lint trap and it still does blow some dust/lint into the room, but keeping the heat and humidity from the dryer in the house on cold winter days is worth the extra little bit of trouble. When spring and fall come around, you just flip the lever to either vent the dryer outside or inside.

If your plan is to use this with a gas dryer, please don't. Exhaust from the burned natural gas is vented through this would be similar to piping your car exhaust into your house.

This diverts the warm, moist air from the dryer into the home. It works well in the winter to replace the moisture in the air. It is easy to clean the extra lint it catches. There is some escape of warm air but basically it works well. I could not find them in stores in the south and ordered on the internet. It was easily available in the northeast.

I purchased one of these devices 10-15 years ago... The idea is great, however it has not improved in construction or design. It works but not very sturdy and not easily attached to wall.

I try to be energy efficient. But as another reviewer said, it is cheap built. The plastic clamps will not hold the hoses on. What is so bad, where the hose slides onto, it is tapered and has no ridge in which to hold the hose. Poor design. Also, the valve does not completly shut off air to outside, so you will not get 100% heat return to house, again, poor design. I will go back to what I used for years, a panty hose works much better.

Once you've pumped warm, moist, dryer-sheet scented air into your home, you can't help but look forward to having a full load of laundry to warm your home. I own one of these and I've purchased two of them as presents for family and friends. We've found that they work best when a box fan is placed in front of them to direct the warm, moist air to circulate through the rest of the house. It makes being energy-efficient pleasant!

My 30 year old model got lost in the move to a new home so I purchased this replacement. The design of this new item is poor. The plastic box is OK but the diverter door lever is weak and will probably soon break off. The hose clamps consist of 2 thin nylon zip ties...a poor substitute for a real clamp. The screen bracket mount merely snaps onto the box and is not in a secure slide track like the old model. I am very disappointed. This item is going back for a refund.

I've had this in every home I've lived in. Helps save some heat during cold Wisconsin winters. Why not keep the heat you are paying for running the dryer! Easy to install - may need to retape/reclamp due to moisture making the tape come loose. Clean the screen after every load to keep lint down in the laundry area.

This item was on the dryer in a house I bought a few years back. I love the free heat and humidity it adds to my home in the colder months. The small screen needs cleaned between loads but its very quick and easy to do. I highly recomend this product for any cold weather climate.

I live in Colorado where the humidity it returns to the house is appreciated. I only use my dryer in the winter months, hanging clothes outside in warm weather. I like using it, but it does put a small amount of lint dust into the laundry room. I looked it up online to be able to buy a new unit for the new house we are building.
