- Replacement Of Broken One
Comments about Briggs & Stratton® Starter Rope & Grip (5042K):
I purchased this pull starter handle to replace the broken one on my air compressor. The old one was made of rubber, with a hard plastic insert that sliced my finger when the rubber deteriorated and broke away. This new and improved version is made entirely of hard plastic, but is as large as the entire original handle, so it won't slip through my fingers. In fact, it fits very comfortably.
The instructions were clearly printed on the back of the blister pack, eliminating the possibility of loss. Written in English, French and Spanish, I now know how to say "Measure and cut rope to the same length as old rope" in 3 languages! Additionally, a visit to the website listed on the package lead me to a wealth of information on tuning up small engines, including a photo illustrating the proper method of pouring oil out of a bottle. We all know that's not as simple as it sounds.
