Comments about Fluidmaster® Flusher Fixer Kit (555c):
The items works but the instructions on the packaging and pamphlet inside the packaging are extremely lacking and poor. It doesn't tell you the importance of needing to have an extremely clean and dry surface where you want the putty ring to adhere to. The antiquated toilet repaired had brass parts. On my first try, I only sanded and wiped the area with a rag. The putty did not stick at all. It finally stuck after wiping the area with rubbing alcohol. Instructions also do not tell you to mold the putty ring to the required shape that is needed for your application. My project needed the putty ring to be cone shaped so the putty could seal and grip the inside lip of the old flap sealing surface, Instructions also don't tell you that the putty ring will be stiff to work with if your working with it in a cold basement and trying to stick it to cold brass parts. It was difficult to press down by hand so I used a long piece of wood to help push it down. The instructions also don't tell you to remove the flap before pushing it down so it does not get damaged. So far so good.
