As I write this, I have in my hand a tube of Door-Ease that I bought about 40 years ago. At the time it carried the "TRW" Corporate name, and came in a metal tube, sort of like a gigantic version of the various "lip-balm" products on the market(back when that product came in a metal tube also). I used it infrequently over the years for everything from hard to open/close doors (apparently its intended use) to wooden drawers and aluminum and plastic sliding windows. I would guess that it is some sort of compound of beeswax and possibly paraffin, petrolatim, and other "slippery" ingredients. Just yesterday I used it again on a stubborn door and jamb, and it still worked Okay, despite having shrunken and turned brown over the years. Noting the deteriorated appearance of the product (what do you expect after 40 years?) and the fact that it was about 3/4 used up, I decided to buy a new tube. At both a major national hardware superstore and the local small hardware store, employees acted as though they had never heard of such a product, so I found it on this website. I have not found the product to have an offensive order, but having read these negative reviews, I may just stick with using the remainder of what I have. I might suggest that those who need only a small quantity might try using the "non-scented" version of one or more of the lip balm brands on the market today.

This product used to come in a stiff cardboard tube that made it handy to apply. Now it comes in a flimsy paper wrapping. I am disappointed that they would degrade their product in this way.

If the product is used as described, its great. It should not be used on wooden drawers. I just finished a tube of this and searched for another one. Believe it or not, I used this stuff for nearly 60 years! I worked in a gas station when I was a kid. We put in on car door striker plates, trunk latches, etc. I used it at home here on sliding metal door tracks, door striker plates and latches - anything that slides. Only a small amount is required. My last tube - again, believe it or not, lasted me about 50 years. I used it for an annual door track lube, etc. I'll be buying another tube as soon as I can get to the local Ace. Good stuff!

We used this to lubricate heavy wooden drawers. Ot did the job but stank for almost a week. Seriously, I cannot find the ingredients of this product and have no idea what could smell so bad. I can't even have the tube in our house without it stinking up the place.
