Looks are Deceiving
The feeders are beautiful, however since the bottom is 2 pieces they do not seal properly therefore leaking. The leaking is good for the ants and beas, but not for the humming birds. ...Read complete review
The feeders are beautiful, however since the bottom is 2 pieces they do not seal properly therefore leaking. The leaking is good for the ants and beas, but not for the humming birds. The red design with the yellow flowers are great! I have feed humming birds for years and have them when no one else in the area does, they preferr the red feeders and the blooming flower that is raised above the bottom of the feeder. Great designer if the bottom part was just one piece, other wise Awesome!

This feeder is the most used feeder by the hummingbirds over the other type of feeders I have. The best feature: it's so easy to take apart to clean. The flower and bee guards slip off a tube from the base making them easy to clean. I just ordered a second one because the hummingbirds like it so much.

I have been buying this feeder for years. I have found it to be one of the best. I have four up at all times, and have given them as gifts. The hummers are very happy with it. Unfortunately, they have made a design change which really bothers me. They have started making these with a cheap, flimsy mono-filament line Which I would not trust using as a hanger. About the only option is to but light gauge wire or 100 lb test fishing line to withstand the weather and chafing. The previous models came with a much more durable plastic suspension wire which lasted for years. I hope they rethink this as it is really bothersome to buy something and feel the need to modify it right out of the box. The advertising pictures still depict this better hanger everywhere I look.

I've had one of these feeders for several years and I find it easy to use and clean. As to the leakage mentioned in other reviews, if the feeder is hanging straight it doesn't leak at all. The only thing you have to be careful of, is to not screw the bottle into the base too tightly or it will break. I just bought another one for my back porch.

Having a leaking problem with this feeder. When I bring it outside and pull it open (you pull it up to "open" it so the juice flows down into the main feeding area)it starts leaking. I thought at first I didn't understand how to use it soI put it in the garage for a couple of months to look at it when I had time. Plenty of baby hummers around emptying my other brand feeder every day so I took the perky pet out again and tried it; same problem. The bottom is made of two pieces as someone else said and it may be leaking there. But all the juice leaks out quickly. Strangely that doesn't happen with water when I experimented so I will again see if I'm doing something wrong??? Perhaps one has to be careful when you pull it open that you gently pull up on the top unit rather than pulling the bottom unit down???? Can't recommend as of now.

Product works great. The hummingbirds love it. The only fault is the plastic part that you screw the bottle onto. I've owned two of these feeders, and if you screw it on too tight the threaded plastic part will break. You can order a replacement part but shipping costs as much as a new feeder. Each feeder I've had lasts a couple of seasons.
