Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Scuffle Stirrup Hoe:
This is a great weeding tool. It automatically loosens soil around plants. The only garden tool I use. You can leave weed tops where they land for mulch as long as they haven't gone to seed yet. A proactive approach to gardening . If you start using this early and often it will save a lot of effort in the long run. Many have complained about the longevity of this tool, but it is cheaper to buy a new one than just the replacement blades for ones that have replicable blades.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Scuffle Stirrup Hoe:
This is the greatest tool for removing small weeds after planting. The trick is to do your entire garden every 5 or so days. Now, that might seem lik a lot of work but it is not.
The edge of the blade rides just under the surface of the dirt and slices weeds in half. Five or six days later the weed might recover and wham, you slice it again.
This can be used incredibly fast, I can do a 40' x 60' garden in an hour, assuming that you have not let a lot of weeds grow. It is the only hoe I use.
The caveat: You MUST sharpen it. It is like a scythe and to watch a person use a scythe they sythe for ten minutes, rest, and remove a 12" scythe stone from their rear pocket and swipe the edge bringing it back to a razor edge, then they scythe again and repeat. To use this too you must do the same.
Ace has a 12" coarse scythe stone but you must order it. Using it every 15 minutes to bring the edge back to sharp returns far more than your effort by the effortless weeding ability of this hoe.
I love it...but one MUST have a scythe stone or within an hour it will become almost useless without a lot of effort.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Scuffle Stirrup Hoe:
I use it mostly in early Spring to catch the weeds while they are still small. Mentone is on the chin of the mountains, our soil is sandy the blades wear out in about 2 years, the handles look new.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Scuffle Stirrup Hoe:
I have never left an online review ever before, this hoe is worth it.
I bought this believing that I was wasting my money on a novelty and expecting to hear my seasoned gardener neighbors to tell me there is no better or quicker way to weed other than getting down on your hands and knees.
To my delight, I was way wrong.
This thing is a champion. I weeded my front beds and two large planters in my backyard in under an hour.
My only concern is that it seems a little flimsy. Someone else mentioned they broke theirs and there was no replacement parts. I worked mine pretty hard and it held together, but I fear it may not make a whole season. But it is worth the money to keep my off my hands and knees and to save me hours in the hot sun.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Scuffle Stirrup Hoe:
This hoe works fantastic on fluffing up the dirt in garden beds, under bushes, around flowers. When small weeds are starting to grow in the dirt just run this hoe across the dirt putting alittle pressure on it so it lifts the weeds up and over so they don't root. I saw a landscaper use this and that's how I found out about it. Thank you Ace for having this it's a gardeners dream and I can't garden without it.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Scuffle Stirrup Hoe:
I wish I had found this hoe years ago, I just came in from using it and it really works great. You must sharpen this tool before using it, I used a 10" mill file following the contour on the bottom edge about the last 1/8" on each side, fist the paint will come off then you take off some metal not too sharp!, you don't want a knife edge, turn the tool upside down, that is the side you want to sharpen, move the file forward and to the right or left with a little pressure. My only gripe is I could have using something an inch or two narrower to weed between my onion rows, I plant them pretty close together, on everything else it worked great, saved me a lot of time and I did not have to bend over. They market some that are more expensive, but I'm quite happy with this one.
