I'm clearing an area that's been overgrown for 8 years. Weeds, saplings, brush. I started using my string trimmer and it was constantly getting bogged down or had to bump more line to the string head. I bought the weed warrior and the performance is much better than string. It cuts through all weeds, and small brush too. It doesn't bog down my trimmer, and doesn't get wrapped up with weeds that I need to clear. It's making my job at least 50% easier. Haven't broken a blade yet even though I've hit 1" saplings by mistake that instantly stopped the head but left the engine running. If you are careful you can even clear these saplings by cutting through them very slowly(I prefer to come back to them with a pair of lopping shears). Overall 4-5 stars, quicker performance, almost indestructible, doesn't clog with vines.

Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I have used this type of trimmer head before only you had to unscrew the head to replace the blades which break easy if you hit anything hard, rock, fence so thought the push n load would be slick !!! WRONG !!! First you get a bag of parts and poor assembly instruction, and I am use to working with machines. I have a Homelite 26SS and after an hour of trying to read the instructions with little tiny pictures and no real explanation of how the parts went together, I threw the useless instructions away and figured out a way to put it together. But come on guys we speak English and most of the huge page was devoted to about 5 languages !!! Print it in English large enough to see and show the scheme on how the parts go together !!! The blades are better than string but to assemble this "Universal fit" is difficult. Universal fit means it fits nothing correctly and the best you can hope for is "haywired together",, Sorry good Idea with a poor design !!!

Bought this for my Poulan gas-powered weed whacker (a model I do NOT recommend, but that's for another review) and it installed quickly and perfectly. Once I finally got my lousy Poulan started, the unit went to work and cut down a variety of weeds, grasses, etc., without issue, that is, until I hit a rock, causing a blade to break.
I live in the mtns of Colorado and have some pretty gnarly growth on my property and this was able to handle it well. The blade breakage is disappointing, but not unexpected. They are plastic after all. You can buy after-market metal blades, which I've done, but have not yet installed.
I like the comment from Jeremy above in which he stated that a broken blade will cause your arms to shake. This is 100% TRUE! Be forewarned: If you break a blade, do NOT continue to cut. Stop and change the blade. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with sore forearms for 2 days (or more).

Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
Was frustrated with the string not coming out correctly from my trimmer, so decided to try this. It was easy to install. The main issue is that it just doesn't work that well. It's fine in an open area, but that isn't were I need to trim. It is around fence lines, swing sets, etc. where weed wacking takes place and this is where this thing suffers. Hit the ground or the bottom of a fence, the trimmer stops. It is also more damaging than the string and the blade seemed really worn after a single use. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this thing. The price wasn't bad, but I think this is just to get you to buy the head and then you're stuck purchasing overpriced replacement blades (like a razor).

Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I installed this on my MTD trimmer because the line was not lasting. It was very easy to install. I was able to do more trimming than with line, however 2 of the blades broke and the tall grass wrapped around the neck where it meets the original line cup. Overall it worked as advertised. It seems the blades do not quite last as long as I would like to see them last. Blades are much easier to install than installing line. I wish the blades were metal instead of plastic.

Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I got this for my 15-year-old CRAFTSMAN WEEDWACKER. The Weedwacker wasn't listed on the container, but it installed in seconds. I was becoming increasingly frustrated with string, and was planning on clearing paths through huge patches of blackberries before a berry-picking outing. I got the head and a pack of extra blades. So far I needn't have bothered with the extra blades. It manhandled everything I hit with it (including some of the blackberries that I ran into) without a problem. This project would have been impossible with string.
The only down sides so far are: First, if you catch it in the dirt it will stop and kill the engine. I had to restart quite a few times. I would have preferred if that hadn't happened so much, but it was so effective at cutting that I didn't mind too much. Second, it is better for cutting in the open than it is around the edge of the house or the fence because it isn't nearly as forgiving as string is. It can potentially damage whatever you hit with it (depending on what it is), or more likely it can get hung up on it and kill the engine.
Overall, I'm very pleased.
Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I have been using these blades for years and they are so much easier to use than string. They do the job and do it well WITHOUT having to worry about bumping or some auto feed system. I have used mine around fences, rocks, and even when trimming around sidewalks. Blade life is pretty decent as I usually only have to change them on average once a year (between living in Louisiana and New York.)
Probably the only issue with using it over string is when one blade breaks (doesn't happen often) it makes the head spin off balance which I can imagine isn't good for the trimmer.
Pros
- Clears brush up to 14
- Fits curved shaft trimmer
Cons
- Unable to cut 12
- Vibrates when blade crack
Best Uses

Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I have a pond in my back yard and had not cut the brush in a few years. It had reached about 5 feet in height and I had to clear 3000 sq-ft. I tried to cut it with my trimmer with a thick string but got no where fast, I then used my lawn mower but it took me 3 hours and 1 bent blade to clear 600 sq-ft.
I bought this product and cleared the rest under 3 hours. I went through 9 nylon blades in that time but it did the job. It did meet most of my expectations. Once you got used to it you can pretty much clear most brush.
I could not cut woody brush over 1/4 of an inch. You can do it but it will chew up these blades. Brush that is 1/2 inch is near impossible to cut with this. Now, your arms will get tired of of this because curved shafts have smaller clearing areas.
Now to clear brush correctly you need a strait shaft trimmer with a brush blade or even saw attachment, but this device will do a decent job for light to medium brush with a curved shaft trimmer.
Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I tried the Weed Warrior but am dissatisfied with the performance. The unit came apart because the metal bolt is seated in the plastic housing. The bolt attaches through the plastic housing and attaches to the trimmer drive shaft. The problem is after a few times of use the bolt stripped out of the cheap plastic housing rendering the " Weed Warrior" a useless ornament at the end of my weed eater. Also the blades chew up way to fast.

Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I really like the Weed Warrior - in fact am trying to find another one - to replace the one I have. I have used mine for well over 3 years (at least once a week during spring and summer and fall). I find that the blades are easier to use than the string types that kept breaking and cutting off short then having to practically rewind the string. I do not agree that they break or wear down any quicker than string. I agree that when one blade is missing it shakes like crazy. But we have been able to weed around stone flower bed edging, sidewalks, fences, etc. Takes some getting use to but I want another.

Comments about Weed Warrior® Universal Push-N-Load 3 Blade Head (14867):
I almost have to use this product because I cant use a string trimmer head along my fence line. These blades and heads are okay for that use. My problem is that during the summer I have gone through about 5 of the things because the pins that hold the blades wear down after about 5 uses. The blade replacements are way to pricey for the amount of time they last. I use at least 6 in every grass cutting. I am looking for a better product to do the fence line because this gets way to expensive.

Getting old blades out is frustrating, sometimes even impossible without cutting them out. Putting in new ones not so bad, but after constant attemots at removing old ones, new ones don't catch on properly. Only had a few months, changed blades three times, now ready to pitch it!!!!
