This sled is a stunning success. I have nothing but good to say for it. It is the best sled I have ever used or encountered. It is durable, tracks straight, designed for speed, has vertical edges to help keep you in, rides well over snow, and just an over all great sled.
We have used this sled to carry in camping supplies (winter camping) and of course to carry us down hills (up to 8 at a time). We've used it, abused it, tested it, and the only thing to get the best of it so far was an unfortunate landing on a fence post, and 3+ years of heavy use. (Yes, the fence post, did do serious damage, thankfully only to the sled, it protected the rider very well.)
It is by far the preferred sled every time we go out sledding. We now have 3 of them that we own, and they still are the first sled picked to ride down the hill in. They do a great job of keeping snow out of your face, are very stable, and are extremely easy to steer, in spite of their length. The holes for rope are a great added benefit for any time you are carrying cargo.
I can't think of any better praise for any sled. My only request would be to expand this design, and offer a shorter and longer option for more versatility!
I wish other toboggan manufacturers could take some good tips from this sled!

"heavy duty" NOT HEAVY DUTY
This was described as heavy duty. My intention was to pull it and it is too thin and light weight.

We have gone through half a dozen of these at our winter home. They are the fastest, most versatile we can find on the market, BUT when the temperature starts to get down under 20-degrees they BREAK easily!!! Why can't someone make a more sturdy version???

This sled fits a family of four and brings smiles for all. It's goes down the hill straight unlike other less durable flimsy sleds. it's also great for pulling smaller children back up the hill.

Comments about Emsco® Heavy Duty Beast Expedition Sled (1138):
My husband and I bought this sled in 2001 to use together...as grownups who love to sled. Since then we have added three boys to our family and used it every winter for taking walks around town, pulling behind cross country skis (we have a home-made belt adapter we hook on to it), and for sledding. All three boys fit together (they are 8, 5, and 2) or we can even fit one grown up with the two little kids. Just this winter - 10 years after we bought it! - we found a crack in the bottom. I think we paid [$] WELL worth it if you ask me! We will buy this sled again and again.... probably even after our boys are grown up.

Comments about Emsco® Heavy Duty Beast Expedition Sled (1138):
We love this sled. It is large enough for 2 adults and a child. It is durable enough that we can use it on the snow covered road in front of our house and it doesn't get destroyed by the occasional gravel (like a thinner sled did). The sides are low enough to let one put feet out to steer. This sled works well in deep snow or on ice.

Comments about Emsco® Heavy Duty Beast Expedition Sled (1138):
Best sled we ever owned. It is light, sturdy, fits 2 to 3 kids, slides very well on all ice/snow surfaces. Fairly easy to steer. We has one for many years that finally cracked and we looked high and low for a replacement. Finally we found the same one at ACE Hardware and couldn't be happier with this product. Price is affordable and you get more than your money's worth.

Comments about Emsco® Heavy Duty Beast Expedition Sled (1138):
This is a very good sled to buy, me and my sisters and brother used it when we couldn't use our wood sled when the snow was to soft. It is very durable and is good if you want to go really fast, but there is one danger to this sled if you live in the country and have a barbed wire fence it's pretty scary. several times we almost hit into the barbed wire fence. But other than that it's a very fun sled and a great sled to buy.

Comments about Emsco® Heavy Duty Beast Expedition Sled (1138):
This sled runs much faster and farther than any other sled on our local hills. It is easy to steer.
The plastic is substantial and durable – it is worth the price.
It has just two downsides – I bang my shins on the back of the sled when I try to ride it on my belly. It is also hard to fit into a car for those times when we are driving to a sledding hill.

I own no less than three of these sleds now. I've had my first for the past three years and it looks as good as new. I mounted skis to one and use it as a snow camping sled! The others I use as downhiller sleds and they're the best.

Comments about Emsco® Heavy Duty Beast Expedition Sled (1138):
I got one for my kids and it proved to be THE fastest sled on the hill! It's stiff construction slides over everything and is super solid and stable on a hill. I know a YMCA camp up in Ely, MN that uses these to tote gear to their remote cabins. Previous sleds wouldn't make it thru one winter, these go multiple winters for not much more money. Whether you're blazing down a hill or hauling kids, firewood or gear I can't say enough about how easily they handle the biggest loads and literally glide easily thru the snow. Tough as nails, too! Don't buy a "cheapy" when you can get one of these! I suggest them to friends ALL the time because they ARE the best.
