This product is all you need. Gets hot very quickly and melts almost too good! Plus being butane powered makes it very easy to hold.

I have a couple other butane soldering irons that recently stopped working and wanted to replace them. I keep one in my camper for wiring emergencies on the road or at the campsite and keep another in my R/C car toolbox for racing. My favorite feature of these is that they heat quickly for soldering even large wires (up to 12 ga pretty easily) and then conveniently heat shrink tubing. My desktop soldering station will heat more quickly, but is much less portable and doesn't work well under the dash of cars. The only complaint I have with this is there are multiple steps required to ignite the iron. The predecessor to this one allowed me to just remove the cap and ignite. The flow setting would be where it was last time I used it. This one I need to turn the flow on, hold down a safety button, then click the self ignitor. To turn it off you dial the flow all the way down. That's less convenient than the prior model, of course the prior model cost more and also stopped working after only a couple of years. If this one proves to be more reliable, I'll withdraw my complaint. ;)

Been through many a portable solder torch and this model puts all those to shame. I use it to repair pinballs and other arcade machines. Just as it promotes, it's ready to go after a few seconds. And it holds up to the abuse all my tools go through. And you can see the amount of fuel it has!
