Comments about CRC 10oz Food Grade Silicone (03040):
***** CAUTION: this is a SILICONE lubricant *****
Read the label for application limits
This is one of the products in which CRC's legendary depth in R&D shows up. MAIN APPLICATION: Kitchen/Food handling equipment. This is a USDA accepted lube for use in all food processing applications, and it is GREAT! No worries about using it to lubricate mixers, blenders, coffee/grain/meat grinders or any other kitchen equipment. Vehicle evaporates completely leaving only the silicone lubricant. I haven't tried it yet as a nonstick or releasing agent, but it has the temp. tolerance needed.
Try this on padlocks you are ready to give up on. The absence of any oily residue allows dust, fines and sand to fall out of the key slot & cylinder. Treat new locks before they are put into service for a pleasant surprise. One shot per year after that - no worries. Natural latex isn't around as much anymore, but this product seals and preserves it. If you have seals, pads &c. of latex rubber, try it.
