The baskets are actually 9 1/4" wide from outer edge to outer edge. Disappointing, because they were advertised as 8 7/8" and turn out to not fit where I wanted to put them.

Use heavy string or wire-ties to attach this wire basket to your bike rack and you too will enjoy the perfect after-market bike basket.
