I moved into a house and discovered the dryer ran hot and took way too long to dry clothes. My dryer vent goes up to the roof and a friend went up there while I turned on the dryer and discovered very little air was coming through. I bought this device after looking at the customer reviews. I also bought extra extension tubes. I had to use the vacuum so that the debris was sucked back down the vent (an alternative in directions). I slowly extended the brush into the vent an worked it back and forth, then pulled it out to see if anything had fallen down. I'd then added another extension rod and repeat the process. Twice a huge amount of lint fell down to where I was working. I cleaned it out and started again. The photo shows the amount of lent it removed. Now my clothes dry in the appropriate time and I know I've significantly reduced a big fire hazard.

Only consider using this product if your dryer and outside vent are within feet from each other. Like the previous reviewer, we managed to get the brush stuck in our vent as well. It was our fault as we were turning the drill in the wrong direction - however, there has got to be a better way for the manufacture to make this product so that the pieces don't come undone. After several calls to duct cleaning companies that sounded unsure if they could get it out for us, we found a professional that specialized in dryers that was sure he could get the job done. He charged only $69 to clean our dryer vent and to get the brush out. Well worth it as the amount of lint caught in our vents was not going to be cleaned out easily with this tool. It only took him 20 minutes or less whereas he estimated we probably could have worked the lint out with this tool if we spent a few hours at it. So, I would recommend you spend the money on a professional - the frustration is not worth saving the money.

Comments about Linteater(r) Dryer Vent Cleaning System (RLE202):
Had no idea there was that much lint in my dryer ducts. No wonder we weren't drying very well. This thing reached all the way to the roof of my 1 story house with the included rods...didn't need extra extensions. Filled up my 5 gallon shop vac. Well designed for the task. Love the fact that it attachs to a drill and has a connector for using the rods while attached to a vaccuum.

Very good instructions for use. Gives you many ways to accomplish the cleaning of the dryer vent. Very simple to use and you will be amazed at the amount of lint that dryer vent ducts accumulate. I filled a garbage bag with the lint out of my duct. The dryer will do a better job of drying clothes with the vent duct properly cleaned to say nothing of the safety aspect of the lint being cleaned from the dryer duct. I did a lot of research before buying the Linteater and I made the right decision in purchasing this unit. The unit has everything you need to accomplish the job.

Comments about Linteater(r) Dryer Vent Cleaning System (RLE202):
The system works exactly as it was advertised. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to clean their dryer vent. It's nice that it came with 12 total feet of flexible poles so I could clean nearly the entire length of my dryer vent in one use. The only thing I didn't like about it, and it came as an unpleasant surprise, is that you have to have a 1/2 inch drill to use it. The poles wont fit into the drill I have which only has a 3/8 inch chuck. Other than that, it works great. I ended up just using it by hand, rotating it slowly back and forth until the lint came out. Took me longer without a drill, but still did the job great.

Ours is a two family household that includes a toddler, an infant and a litter of labrador puppies, all of which combine to generate LARGE amounts of laundry. The dryer was taking an inordinate amount of time to dry a load of clothes, running almost continually. Since using the Linteater the drying time has been dramatically reduced and we are able to keep up with the demand.

Comments about Linteater(r) Dryer Vent Cleaning System (RLE202):
A sensable system to clean out long duct to the roof like mine. The tight goose neck on the roof prohibits cleaning from the roof, but the system allowed me to get good performance from the floor below. Sections stay connected if you follow the manual and tape each section. It's a timely process to connect , tighten and tape each section but less timely that trying to extract a lose section. My duct system is 25 years old and as far as I can tell there was no stress on the duct despite two very close 90 deg elbows. It vastly improved the dryer's performance and reduced the amount of accumulated dust in the house (dryers do not really vent everything up any duct.) Using a cyclone type dust collector added power to the suction and separated the lint from the lighter dust. Very pleased with the product. Seems well engineered for the purpose.

We purchased a new dryer and it was running very hot. I researched the web and found out that the dryer vent could be blocked.
I followed the guidelines set out in regards to the dryer and finally disconnected the dryer from the vent. Within seconds the dryer started to cool. I came across Linteater and read the 90+ reviews. I must say, this product actually worked better than expected.
It took about 2 hours to read and clean the vent. I had to disconnect the last 6 ft from the roof and do this separately. Total length was approximately an 18 ft vertical dryer vent.
Very easy to use and I would recommend this to a friend.

Comments about Linteater(r) Dryer Vent Cleaning System (RLE202):
My husband and I had a washer and dryer delivered to our townhome and the first time I dried clothes I noticed they had been in there for about 2 hours and were still VERY wet. The dryer was still getting hot, but not drying. We assumed it was a blocked duct, but didn´t want to spend a lot of money to have someone come out and clean it for us so we gave this product a try. It worked GREAT. Before we cleaned it the flaps on the outside of the vent didn't even open, now when I turn on the dryer the flaps blast completely open! It was quick, easy, effective and inexpensive. Now I am drying in no time. LOVE this product!

My dryer vents out thru the roof and I hadn't cleaned the vents in almost 9 yrs. The dryer was taking too long to dry clothes and after doing a lot of research ended up trying Linteater. It was just amazing the amount of lint that I retrieved(almost a pillow case)from the vent. I did not have the courage to climb up the roof so I did it from the inside and did not even need to use the vacuum adapter. I had to use the extension kit as it was almost 17ft from the dryer up to the roof. Now my clothes dry in less than an hour and with the ease of using this product, I can certainly recommend it to anybody. Just make sure you follow the recommended instructions carefully before starting out.

I wish I would have known about this product years ago. I previously bought a competitors product that turned out to be a waste of money. This one will easily pay for itself quickly. After one good cleaning, my drying time went from 80 minutes to 40 for a heavy load. I like the rigid construction, the flexibility of adding additional sections, and the ease of attaching it to a drill. I can't think of anything that would make this product better.

Comments about Linteater(r) Dryer Vent Cleaning System (RLE202):
I have a Samsung DV209AEW dryer. Started to take 1.5-2hrs to dry a load of towels, and the dryer unit would become hot to the touch. Also, excessive sweating on the dryer door. I opened the dryer unit, and ended up cleaning about 3 gallons of lint from the inside. The lint was everywhere, on the circuit wires, along the bottom, and sides. There was even charred lint on the heating element (yes, huge fire hazard...we're very lucky nothing happened!). After cleaning out the lint, I still experienced the same symptoms (long drying times, excessive heat).I figured it was the dryer vent pipe. Instead of paying $150+ each year or so for a pro, I wanted to look for an alternative. Noticing all the positive feedback for this product (on both Ace and [...]), decided to pick this up at my local Ace and couldn't have been happier. Many of the reviews recommended to read the instructions first, and it's definitely a good idea. Would hate to lose any of the pieces in the vent.Using this kit and my 19.2V cordless drill, I cleaned out a 20ft vertical vent that goes out to my roof. Needed the extension kit since the included rods only go up 12ft. I cleaned from the inside, because I didn't want to go onto the roof. Took 2 hours from start to finish, and kept cleaning in between. Ended up cleaning out another 3 gallons of lint. Basically, the blocked vent was causing blow-back, forcing the lint to end up on the inside of my dryer.I didn't end up using all the other accessories that came with it, but could see it being useful in different situations. I ran another load of towels, and it dried in 45 mins! Also, the dryer was no where near as hot as it used to get. I think this kit already paid for itself, just from avoiding having to call someone to clean the vent, or a technician to diagnose the dryer. Not to mention the reduced energy use.Anyone can use this kit, seriously! Just read the instructions first.Keeping this kit, and will redo the vent cleaning once a year.
Comments about Linteater(r) Dryer Vent Cleaning System (RLE202):
My dryer vents through the attic and out the roof. Last time the vent was clogged, I ended up replacing about 12 of pipe because the clog was so bad.
With the Linteater and the extension kit, I was able to clean the entire length of duct in an hour or so. I had to work from inside and add rods one at a time. I followed directions carefully tightening and taping each coupling and only used the drill in forward. It was a piece of cake!

Needing to clean my dryer vent to prevent a potential fire hazard, and not wanting to spend well over $150 to have a professional do the job, I found this kit via the internet. Based on the reviews of people that used to product properly, I had to give it a try. The kit is EXTREMELY easy to use if you either read the manual or possess an iota of common sense. The brush is not a drill bit...you don't have to turn the brush counter-clockwise to get it back out. I cleaned an entire 25 foot vent from start to finish in under 30 minutes. If you are a do-it-yourself kind of person, do not hesitate to use this product. It works phenomenally well for the money!!

If I had bought it 2 weeks ago I would have saved $137.53 in dryer repair. Massive blockage (including lint, paper, pencils, toothpicks, etc.) caused the thermal couple to break.
Major tips to handle a huge mess:
Use a drill! I didn't have a variable speed drill so I tried it by hand. I think I compressed the blockage by pushing lint, etc into 1 small area. With a single speed drill, "bump" it (rev it a little then stop and repeat - never go to full speed).
Since the vent was entirely blocked, the shop vac couldn't vacuum out the lint. Pull the whole system out frequently to remove the stuff you already cleaned out (especially if you hit a blockage! Don't pack it in!)
Mine was an unusually bad situation. It took 4 hours for the whole process, but it worked! Couldn't have done it without this tool. Highly recommend - just use it BEFORE your dryer breaks.

It is a very easy to use tool. I loved how easily it went aroung 3 turns. I separated the pipe inside the house, install the brush along with the shop vacuum adaptor into the end of the pipe, started up the vacuum, and with my drill motor I fed the brush one 3' section at a time into the pipe until I reached the other end. All of the lint went into the kitchen garbage bag I attached to the outlet end. There is a bag adaptor available for purchase, but the garbage bag worked just fine. I would recommend this tool to anyone.

You're kidding, right? Reverse the drill and what do you think would happen? This product worked perfectly the first time. I was done in less than a half hour on a 22' run. You will notice all negative reviewers of this product obviously didn't read the manual. Only turn the shaft in a clockwise direction. In my case the vent was thoroughly clogged, by just reaming out about 3-4 feet at a time I got through the entire 15 feet of vent in less than 45 minutes ...that includes massive lint vacuuming. This beats loosing all your belongings to a house fire any day.

The Lint Eater has a 12' foot reach using the all of the extension rods in the standard kit. If you clean from the outside AND from the inside, you could clean a 24' duct run without having to buy the rod extension kit. 12 + 12 = 24. Save you some $$$.

The BEST tool I have found in cleaning the lint out of my over 20' dryer vent duct. I also cleaned my neighbor's dryer vent because we are good friends. She thought she saw a bird fly into the vent opening once. I pulled out the bird nest along with the lint from inside the dryer vent duct.
I wondered if 'Michael' had read the instruction about pulling tape around the joins to prevent the rods from coming apart when you reverse the spin direction? There isn't a secure way from taping the brush head so I don't recommend reversing the spin and loosing parts inside the duct work. Besides that, this is an EXCELLENT product for removing lint from duct work and more.

You need to be careful with this unit. I lost 6 feet of connecting rods and the 4" brush because if you try to back the unit out using a drill, the connecting rods will unscrew and the unit is now stuck in the dryer vent. I had to take the roof cover off and fish the unit threw. This cost me about [$].

I had issues with my dryer not drying my clothes in a timely manner. 4 cycles later clothes were still damp and the door of my dryer had beads of sweat. Finally after googling it I opted to try cleaning my lint trap. My goes up into the attic and out the roof. I had to purchase the exentions. Problem with my trap on the roof was the brush couldn't bend downward due to the trap. We opted to do from inside the house up to the roof. Cleaned out a quarter of a kitchen trash bag. Now my dryer dries my clothes in 20 minutes as it should. Great product for the price. I only spent [$] on the whole kit plus extensions whereas a professional would have cost a lot more than that. The dryer vent goes up about 15 feet in a straight line to the roof. My brand new dryer was not working well and it was suggested that I check the vent. I looke up through the clean out and it was almost completely blocked. I drove over to Ace Hardware and bought the Linteater and extension set. It took maybe 15 minutes to read the directions AND clean the vent. The linteater removed a mass of lint the size of about 2 basketballs, and the new dryer works even better than I expected. Hightly recommended!
Comments about Linteater(r) Dryer Vent Cleaning System (RLE202):
Works good and brush really cleans the inside of the vent out and loosens what is left on the vent wall and just turn on your dryer to blow the rest out.
