Absolutely doesn't do as it claims. Paint leaked underneath the tape and looked exactly like they claimed it wouldn't-like the picture on the packaging. A huge mess and waste of our time. Could have done a better job free handed. Won't ever use again or recommend this product...period. I've had better results with masking tape.
Overpriced and doesn't do as claims.

Needed to divide dining area color from living room. The green Frog Tape left a perfect line from floor to ceiling on a lightly textured wall. The difference between Frog Tape and the blue tape I've used in the past was remarkable. No bleeding through whatsoever. The results made me look like a professional painter.

This stuff was amazing. I used it on textured walls and needed to do additional procedures that were discussed on the Frogtape website but it worked nearly perfectly. There were a couple of tiny spots that needed touchup but overall it did a really amazing job.

Highly recommend! Be sure to see their website if you are using on textured walls.

Not sure why the negative reviewer "SteveE" had problems with adhesion. I used the "delicate" version on the ceiling and it stayed on fine over a two day period.

i have been painting for over 40 years. i do not tape frames, but do use it on baseboards. it will work great on a rgular surface, but you have to make sure you press it down tight. if you have an irregular/rough surface where the tape can not make a proper seal it will not work. nothing will.

Do not waste your money on this tape; it does not perform as advertised. If I could give it zero stars I would. I bought into the advertisement hype about Frogtape and bought four rolls for a painting project where my wife and I were doing a three color vertical striped pattern on smooth painted drywall surfaces. After cleaning and prepping the walls with two coats of Kilz Premium primer and a base of three coats of Behr Satin finish Premimum paint and letting it dry for several days, we laid down the tape pattern. The taping took an entire day to finish so we started painting the stripes the next day with the same Behr Satin finish Premium paint. We quickly realized that the tape had already started to lift off the walls. Although not glass smooth the walls in question were about as smooth and untextured as a drywalled surface can be. I found that I had to burnish the tape down repeatedly as I painted a section as it would start to lift in just a few minutes. Once the first coat of paint was down it seemed to stay put, but to our disappointment once we peeled off the tape we found that it bled on virtually every edge requiring a lot of touch up. This stuff might work if you just lay it down in one fell swoop and then painted immediately. But if your trying to do precision complex patterns, and expect it to do it's job over multiple days FORGET IT!!!

On the other hand prior to buying the Frogtape my wife purchased some Scotch brand "Alligator" blue painters tape, (this is different than the ordinary Blue painters tape that Scotch sells), We used it on the door jams and window sills as well as a few of the first tape lines on the walls. It is great stuff!!! It lays down easy, is repositionable, stays stuck for days and days, comes right off and most of all doesn't bleed under the edges. All the things a painters tape is supposed to do. On one particular stripe one side was done with the Alligator tape and the other side with the Frogtape. The Alligator tape worked perfectly, the Frogtape would stay stuck down and bled under. 'Nuff said.

I gave this tape a try after several less-than-perfect rounds with the blue tape. I ended up running my own experiment since I was 10 feet short and had to use some blue tape side-by-side with Frogtape. I painted one coat, allowed it to dry overnight, painted another coat, and then removed the tape around 6 hours after the second coat was applied. The results were *much* better than with the blue tape, and it didn't tear or leave sticky residue on the walls when I removed it. I wouldn't say the results were perfect - there was a tiny bit of bleeding, especially on smoother surfaces where the blue tape usually does better, but it worked great on the textured ceiling. I only paid $2 more for the green tape over the blue, so I would stick with the green tape, no question.

I have seen many advertisements for FrogTape and decided to give it a try even though it cost twice as much, if not more, than the blue painter's tape. It claims to "seal tape edges for razor sharp lines." Completely untrue!! I used this tape to protect my cabinets, door frame, wall corner, and base boards while painting my kitchen. Upon removing the tape I was extremely disappointed to see that it bled every time!!! The blue tape actually worked much better! What a rip off!

Frog tape uses a specially formulated adhesive that once in contact with paint forms a gel like barrier. The barrier doesn't leave a mess or residue. Once pulling the tape, it doesn't tear or pull up chunks of ceiling or trim. If I started doing painting full time, I would definately invest in this product first!
