The company that makes this crock has been around for a VERY long time, and I love them because of their quality work:) The only bad thing about the crock is that imperfections in the inside glaze are very hard to see, and I seriously recommend that when buying a crock--to look it over very carefully, and gently run your hand all around the inside to make sure that it is all smooth, because I didn't do that--and now 1 month after the purchase, I took it out of the box, and there are flaws on the inside glaze, which could cause problems:(

Nice heavy crock for fermenting pickles, kraut etc. Only complaint is mine is noticeably out of round which makes it a little more difficult to fit a large plate in when you need to weight it.

I purchased this to add to my tools for home preservation of food. As soon as I received this item, I used it for my first ever batch of sauerkraut. So far so good, but the crock is performing as expected. It's heavy and requires some pre-planning and care in handling. Great item. Great condition, quick delivery to nearest store.

This was just the right thing for making sauerkraut. I didn't want a plastic bucket and most of the crocks I looked at were ridiculously expensive. Not only were these reasonably priced, but they came in just about any size you could need and they are heavy and sturdy and food-safe.

This is a solid and well made crock. I used to make a batch of fermented pickles and it easily held 10 pounds of cucumbers and the brine with enough room to weight them down. I think I may also get the larger size for making sauerkraut.

I love my crock because it is so substantial and timeless. I use the 1 gallon crock for my utinsils, a 3 gallon crock as an umbrella stand and a 10 gallon crock as a plant pot for a tree.
