I have not used this for dry pickup yet, but I assume it will do what it's supposed to. Where it is lacking is in the wet pickup department. Specifically, a separate nozzle is needed for example, if you have a seepage problem in your basement. The type of nozzle needed for this is one which hugs the floor tightly, and the only one provided which meets this requirement is the crevice tool. The crevice tool will work, but is fairly small, requiring many more passes than should be necessary.

I have small machine tools in my garage and create a lot of metal debris. I have no problem cleaning up the metal chips with this vacuum. This vacuum works great and is constructed well, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. I have had no problems with it at all!! I will definitely be buying another!!!

It has very powerful suction and comes with plenty of useful accessories. Used it to clean up the garage floor and clean out a dryer vent shaft. The long accessories were very helpful with that, although I was a bit surprised at how clogged the filter became from the lint. Of course, it's likely just the nature of lint. The motor runs a bit hotter than I would expect also, but it seems to keep chugging along.

my first shop van and i'm really happy with it. it cleared the inside of my car really nicely and then did a great job cleaning out the inside of my grill. can't wait to use it in all the other places that need it.

I left off the wheels and plastic things where you hook on the attachments so this vac would be as light as possible. I need to carry it up and down the steps a lot so I was aiming for something nice and light, but still powerful, and this vac delivers!
It has the standard fluted filter which covers the inlet to the motor, just like all other shop vacs. Naturally this comes off for wet pickup. It also has a really large paper filter bag which fills the whole inside of the tub. Great for vacuuming up dust and small particles. I've never seen a shop-vac have one of these.
What it doesn't have is one of those plastic mesh filters you can install in lieu of the fluted paper filter. Normally you might use this when doing wet pickup. As it is, you just don't have a filter when doing wet pickup... unless you go buy the mesh filter.
All in all, this is a great value. The hose is decently long and secures nicely to the body. Suction power is great. Price is right, at least when I bought it.

I use this mostly for sawdust and general shop/garage dirt pickup. The hose is long enough so I don't have to move the unit to clean up my table saw and workbench area.
It is more powerful and quieter than the unit I replaced.
