Having used a drill with other augurs by rigging a nail into the end, this augur was a brilliant find because it does not kink. The outer covering keeps it going in straight and true. So much easier to use than trying to keep a regular augur straight while the drill is going.
I also liked the broad tip that unlike my old augur is more spread out to give it more oomph at the clog.
I wish they made it in a slightly larger version. This line is a bit narrow for my drain.
Unfortunately, too, the drill connection is plastic rather than metal and broke off after a few uses. Still, I think I will buy another just like it as a replacement because it worked so well and is relatively inexpensive.

Had a problem with black water line between house and septic. Bought this power auger that installs in power drill. Within minutes, it was stuck in clog, and twisted itself off at the drill. Would not recomend for heavy duty work. Hand snake worked better, but a lot rougher on hands (raised blisters while using).

This snake managed to make 2 or 3 ninety degree bends from a cleanout into septic tank to clear out a clog. Saved me some digging and/or expensive plumber bill. Takes 2 people to operate effectively. One to run the drill and one to jam and jiggle the snake.
