Beyond Paint® is an all-in-one decorative refinisher that brings a bold new look to almost any surface - wood, laminate, metal, plastic, you name it. It's a great way to revive an old side table (not to mention other furniture, cabinets, countertops and accessories) and transform it into a unique accent piece for any room. Ace can help make this project easy with the paint, supplies and expert advice you need.

Matte Bone
BP39

What You'll Need:

  • Beyond Paint® All-In-One
  • Beyond Paint® Multi-Purpose Sealer
  • Beyond Paint® Flecks
  • 4" roller frame and cover
  • Paint tray
  • 1.5" angled paintbrush
  • Painter's tape
  • 220 grit sandpaper
  • Odorless mineral spirits
  • Latex gloves
  • Damp cloth

Start by giving the tabletop a good cleaning with the mineral spirits and cloth, then mask any areas you're not refinishing with the painter's tape.

Helpful Tip:

Wear latex gloves to protect your hands while using mineral spirits

For the first step of your new finish, roll on two coats of Beyond Paint® All-In-One Matte Bone BP39, giving the first coat 2-4 hours to fully dry before applying the second. Use the paintbrush to cover the table edges and sides. Then, while the second coat is still wet, shake the Beyond Paint® Flecks evenly across the tabletop to create an eye-catching accent for your base color.

Give the tabletop 3-5 days to set, then lightly sand the surface and wipe it clean with a damp rag. Finally, roll on the Beyond Paint® Multi-Purpose Sealer. Remove the tape while the sealer is still wet, then let your creation cure for 30 days before giving it a final wash with soapy water.

The end result is a one-of a-kind accent piece that gives any room a look that's uniquely your own. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to carry out this revolutionary refinishing yourself, with a little help from your neighbors at Ace!

If your home was built prior to 1978, check for lead-based paint before you sand or scrape any painting surfaces. Call 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead for more information.
