In addition, it kills both the mound and the queen, and keeps new mounds from forming. Use this pest control product on residential lawns, ornamental plants and flower gardens. To treat mounds, apply 2/3 cup of product over each fire ant mound and the surrounding 3-foot diameter. After application, drench the mounds with 2 gallons of water. Do not water to the point of run-off, and do not make applications in the rain. For best results, apply in cool weather (65F to 80F) or in the morning or late evening hours when ants are most active. Do not apply this product to vegetables. Do not allow people and pets to re-enter treated area until granules have been watered in and area has dried.
