What Is Hand Saw TPI? 

Whichever type of hand saw you choose, an important specification to look for is its number of teeth per inch. This is usually written as TPI. The higher the TPI, the finer the cut will be and the more control you'll have. However, lower TPIs cut more quickly and are ideal for heavy-duty work where strength and speed are more important than neatness.
