Product Overview

The lightest STIHL professional-grade chainsaw in its class with a wrap-handle design, the MS 462 R delivers an impressive power-to-ratio that provides users with the balance of performance and comfort needed to take on a range of jobs. With the same great features as the MS 462, including the STIHL anti-vibration system, the unique bumper spike design, a slim sprocket cover, non-electronic carburetor, the MS 462 R also features a wrap-handle design that gives professional users improved comfort in certain situations, such as use with long guide bars and allows for the saw to be used in multiple positions for felling or limbing with hands in the proper positions.

  • Decompression Valve - Vents compression in the cylinder for easier starting. The decompression valve temporarily reduces the compression in the combustion chamber during cranking and helps reduce the effort needed to pull the starter rope
  • Winter or Summer Shutter - The Winter/Summer Shutter allows the carburetor to operate at optimum temperature year-round and helps to prevent carburetor icing when working below 50 deg F (10 deg C)
