Headland Ace Hardware has the backing of over 4,600 stores, but its roots and mission remain entirely local. The store opened April 17, 1997, under the ownership of Roger, Peggy and Gina Goan. Since then, an addition to the building in 2002 handles bagged concrete, Portland cement sand, pool filter sand and shelled corn. The next year, 2,000 square feet were added. This year saw a reset of the paint department with the introduction of a paint studio and two lines of Valspar paints. Color chip racks increased to four, providing the right shades for any needs. Even as the largest individually-owned hardware cooperative, Ace is committed to local service with the right products, prices, and helpful, knowledgeable advice. Headland Ace also backs area athletic teams and local events. The store promises helping you is the most important thing we have to do today. Let the Goans prove it.
