How to Paint a Ladder

Lucky One
31A-3

What You'll Need:

  • Ace Cabinet, Door & Trim paint
  • Primer
  • Angled paintbrushes
  • Plastic drop cloth
  • Sandpaper
  • Damp cloth

First, prep the ladder by using the sandpaper to smooth away all the imperfections on the wood's surface. Then, wipe the ladder clean with a damp cloth.

Next, place the ladder on a plastic drop cloth and apply primer with an angled paintbrush, making sure it covers evenly.

Helpful Tip:

Prop the ladder on 2x4s to make painting easier and for smoother brush marks

When the primer is dry, apply two coats of Ace Cabinet, Door & Trim Paint in Lucky One 31A-3, making sure the first coat is completely dry before you apply the second. Take your time to make sure the paint goes on smoothly, without drips or runs, so you end up with the best-looking finish.

Helpful Tip:

You can complement your new accent piece with color-coordinated towels to take your new look a step further

Once the paint is dry, set your ladder up in your bathroom and drape with your favorite bath towels to create a unique new look. Do-it-yourself interior design is always easy when you have helpful neighbors like the folks at Ace!
