Garden hoes have traditionally been used for stirring up soil in garden beds and weeding out unwanted growth. A gardening hoe saves its operator from the physical strain of bending down on the ground to get the job done.
You can even select gardening hoes with different shaped heads to help you get the desired effect you need. While you’ll find the standard hoe-shaped blade to assist with soil preparation, some are pointed to do a better job of targeting the root of a weed and others have a U-shape to help you maneuver close to the trunk or thick stem of a shrub.
