Ellen B. Scripps became a legend in La Jolla through unselfish dedication to the service of others. In 1948 her niece, Nackey Scripps Meanley, together with husband Tom and son William established Meanley & Son Hardware dedicated to that same principle of service. After 68 years, the tradition continues. With gourmet cookware, kitchen gadgets, Clark & Kensington, Valspar, Frazee and Safecoat paint, cleaning supplies, garden, electrical, plumbing, hardware, etc. and all the widgets, fasteners, glues, and whatjamacallits you would expect, it's a hardware store for everyone, visiting travelers, new residents and old-timers alike. In 1997 Meanley's joined the ACE Hardware Co-op., a co-op of independently owned and operated hardware stores joining together to provide customers with world class service and competitive prices. With ACE as a partner, Meanley's is ready for the 21st century.
Established in 1983, Children's Miracle Network (CMN) generates funds and awareness for more than 17 million sick and injured children, who are cared for each year by its 170 affiliated hospitals, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
