As a family business with a rich tradition, were proud to enter our fifth generation of leadership. Our success as a strong brick-and-mortar business stems from over 120 years of community love and dedicated service. Mike and Mary (Whitmore) Cripe, along with their sons Michael and David, have grown the business to 15 locations. Historically, hardware stores served as general stores meeting the needs of the community. With that in mind, we added a modern twist by incorporating trends in fashion, gifts, and home decor, creating "Water Street"a contemporary general store. Named after the address of our first store, opened in Wilmington in 1896, Water Street aims to offer an inspiring and delightful selection for your home and lifestyle.
